Principal's Message

Picture

Welcome to Elijah Smith Elementary School home of the Eagles. Our school is named after Elijah Smith, a respected Elder and member of the Order of Canada. We are located on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, in the Copper Ridge area of Whitehorse. Our excellent facilities and staff help to support academics, sports and the arts to offer a balanced learning opportunity for our students.

Elijah Smith provides a culturally relevant program that promotes learning experiences and opportunities to all of our students. We are pleased to offer a new program called Forest School where our staff will use the forest surrounding our school in their teaching.

I extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families. I look forward to meeting and working together, and encourage you to visit the school and our website to find out more about what we offer and what you may be able to do to help at the school.

Sincerely,
Jeff Cressman
